A Gentle But Necessary Boundary

Holey House exists because I survived what I didn’t have language for at the time.

It exists because trauma reshaped my nervous system, my relationships, my body, and my sense of self, and because healing required radical honesty, deep learning, and lived experience.

That said, clarity matters. Safety matters. And boundaries matter.

Please read this page carefully.

Not Therapy. Not Medical Advice.

I am not a licensed therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, medical provider, or mental health professional.

I am a trauma survivor who has spent years studying trauma, nervous system regulation, attachment injury, dissociation, shame, and healing, first out of desperation, later out of devotion.

The content on Holey House is shared from:

  • Lived experience
  • Personal reflection
  • Trauma-informed education
  • Independent research
  • Survivor-centered insight

It is not a substitute for:

  • Therapy
  • Counseling
  • Psychiatric care
  • Medical diagnosis
  • Crisis intervention
  • Professional treatment of any kind

If you need mental health care, medical support, or crisis assistance, please seek help from a licensed and trained professional.

You can visit my Resources Page for suggestions on how to find appropriate support.

Emotional Safety & Trigger Awareness

  • Childhood sexual abuse
  • Incest
  • Emotional neglect
  • Dissociation

If at any time you feel overwhelmed, destabilized, flooded, or unsafe:

  • Pause your engagement
  • Ground yourself
  • Reach out to a trusted person or professional
  • Seek immediate help if you are in crisis

Your nervous system matters more than finishing an article.

Holey House is meant to support awareness. Not replace care.

No Guarantees, No Promises

Healing is deeply personal.

While many people find validation, clarity, language, and hope through this work, no guarantees are made regarding:

  • Healing outcomes

A Final Word—from Survivor to Survivor

Holey House was never meant to replace therapists.

It was meant to name what survivors are often never given language for.

This is a place of truth, not treatment. Of witnessing, not fixing. Of awakening, not rescue.

You deserve real support. You deserve qualified care. And you deserve to heal safely.

With care,

Candice
